The dining table has two
butterfly leaves that are folded inside the table. To add one
or both to the table proceed as follows:
There are four latches for each leaf that must be unhooked, all
latches are under the table.
The photos below show the rest of the
procedure. Slide the top apart to allow the necessary
clearance for the leaf or leaves you are adding. It is
preferable to work with one leaf at a time. Swing the folded
halves together up and around until they rest flat on the opposite
side of the table (swinging it away from the bay window). Then
take the top half and rotate it on its hinges back towards the
window until it lays flat. Reach under each side and pull the
aprons down to the vertical position. Close the table and again
latch it underneath.
To remove a leaf the procedure is reversed,
remembering that the folded leaf will only nest under the table on
the side towards the lunch counter and away from the window. And,
the final step is to again hook the latches underneath.
